Our target is to start the studies and restoration of a beautiful unknown Ecce Homo painting by Pontormo.

Ecce Homo drawing, Italian School, 16th CEntury, with inscription ‘Jacopo da Pontormo’ (verso). Pen and brown ink, brown wash.
This painting is notified (under protection) by the Italian authorities and recognised by them as a Pontormo (studies ongoing).
The drawing of this fascinating painting by Pontormo was sold, unnoticed, by Christie’s, on 5th of December 2006 – reference Oppe’ collection

Created for a private client from Ghent, this painting is one of the most beautiful examples of the influence of Italian style in the Flemish tradition.
Various versions of this painting exhist, by Frans Pourbus and by his master Frans Floris, the most beautiful are in Wiesbaden and Hermitage museums and in Saint Bavo cathedral in Ghent and Saint Martin cathedral in Tours.
